12 September 1855 - Newspaper Article: Immigration ListThe Deseret News in Salt Lake City published an article listing all of the Mormon pioneers during the year 1855 who had migrated to Utah. William Gorringe was listed under C. A. (Charles) Harper's Company, along with hundreds of other immigrants during 1855. The head of household was the only person named in this article, but next to their names is a number. This number indicates how many people are in the "household." The article shows that William and three others (his wife (Fanny) and two children (Williand and Emily) immigrated to Utah. - Last updated 6 November 2016

1860 - U.S. Federal CensusWhen the 1860 census was conducted William and his family were living in Bountiful, Davis County, Utah Territory. They had been in Utah for about five years at this point. William was 33 years old and his wife Fanny was 31 years old. Also in the household was their son William (age 8), daugther Mary (age 3), and son Joseph H. (6 months). Their daughter, Emily, should have also been in the household, but she was not recorded. Either it was a mistake Emily was not recorded, or she was recorded in a different household. - Last updated 6 November 2016
