Emmett Eugene Lucas was born on New Years Day in 1925 in the small community of Connelsville, Adair County, Missouri. He was one of 13 children to Arthur Lucas and Myrtle Belle Underwood.

Sometime in the 1940s Emmett left Missouri and made his way west to Idaho. He met and married Dorothy Rose on 12 September 1948 in Soda Springs, Caribou County, Idaho. Together they had at least four children; three daughters and a son that only lived a couple of hours.

Emmett and Dorothy divorced on 19 December 1958. I don't know many details other details about their marriage or children.

My mother is Emmett's biological daughter, born after him and Dorothy were divorced, although he was not part of my mother's life.

Emmett tragically died in a car accident on 2 November 1972 just outside of Soda Springs. The newspaper articles state that his truck slid on the icy road into oncoming traffic and an oil tanker hit him.
